BLASPHEMOUS EXPLETIVE
Ya know what I love about lefties? It's the way they respect everybody's diversity of opinion and never let a civilized discourse devolve into a series of ad hominem attacks. It's the way they keep a conversation rooted in fact and never let strong emotions cloud their judgement. It's...
Screw it. I can't do this with a straight face.
That, and I'm pretty well pissed.
Remember Michele? She's that nice lady I blogged about recently with the Showcase entry who'd had a political epiphany and abandoned the left for greener pastures.
I also mentioned that some of her former friends reacted by taking a virtual crap in her comments, so I asked the kind-hearted among you to give her some support. A lot of people did, and she appreciated it.
Some of her former friends, however, decided that the best way to deal with the situation was to hijack her blog. Straight up destroy the content and leave a rude message on the scorched earth where some fine writing once stood. Just in case the cowards cut & run, here's a screenshot of their handiwork:
Unable to respond in any rational manner they showed their true pack-of-diseased-hyena colors by stealing intellectual property and issuing threats.
I'm suprised there weren't any giant puppets involved.
On the bright side, Michele managed to transfer all her old posts to a new site and will continue blogging in the face of despicable thuggery.
To the miserable pieces of shit that perpetrated the offense:
Fuck you.
And the horse you rode in on.
And the little dog that followed your horse into town.
Especially that little dog.
Assholes.
UPDATE 6-30-04 12:10AM: Blogspot has removed the offending site. Good thing I've got the screenshot as proof.
I'm also fixing the links in my old post so that folks can find the post in question instead of being slapped in the face with that affrontery to all things civilized.

Sounds like she should be a MuNuvian!!! Why don't you drop Pixy an e-mail?
Why is it that we never hear about people on the right doing things like this?
"Liberals: Crushing your dissent, then claiming to be more open-minded than you."
What a wonderful philosophy. Hypocrites.
Oh, and if you're wondering what inspired that comment, Moorewatch was hit by a Denial of Service attack recently, presumably by Mikey Moore fans who disagreed with them.
Holy sh--! I don't even know what to say! Let me get this straight... these are liberals, who are all about free speech... right? I mean aren't they the ones that are angry about FCC sanctions etc?
Assholes. Good for her though. Don't let the bastards get ya down.
To tell you the truth I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. Check out Slashdot comments - there's a LOT of liberalism in them thar computer geeks. I think most of them find hacking blogs to be beneath them and that's the only thing that has saved us so far.
But be prepared. If blogs gain as much influence as people who blog believe they can - there will be more and more incidents like this - on all types of blogs. I just hope that site defacement doesn't pick up the allure it held in the mid 90's. It was almost a requirement to deface a site if you wanted to call yourself a true hacker/cracker. *sigh*
Madfish is right, let's ask her over to Munu.
I cannot believe this happened. It's exactly why I wanted to avoid voting in the Showcase, but I cannot believe it's already turned to this. Thank goodness Michele had the sense to fight back rather than take the easy route of giving up.
Remember, we on the Right are the Digital Brownshirts! I mean, it's our job to act like boorish louts, shut down sites we don't like, and be cruel to those that fall away from the Truth.
But oddly, the Left is doing such a fine job, I think we'll need to start kicking kittens and drinking puppies just to get back in the running.
Ok, I put up a post at Ellis Island. Go give her a "YAY!"

LOL! Harvey, you are one of the less than astute persons waxing outraged over the entry I wrote saying blogging is a mixed bag. And, at the same time, you are proving what I said is accurate.
This incident is exactly the kind of misbehavior common in the blogosphere that people, especially newbies, need to know about. So is your effort to put a needless political spin on it. (Hat tip to CD.) I will try to remember to revisit the topic in an upcoming Blogospherics column. For now, newcomers should know:
1) There are many issues involved in having comments sections (including the fact that Blogger does not offer built-in support). You will want to weigh whether you want the hassle before deciding.
2) Your password for your main blog should be guarded. The friend you gave it to on Monday will transmogrify into an enemy and spam or erase your site Friday. Ditto for hosting. You probably want to stick with the bigger, impersonal blog hosts, not your pal Frank who is offering you space on his server cheap . . . until he thinks you crossed him in some way.
I've a couple of issues for Harvey, he who criticizes people who know what they are talking about while doing a bad job himself.
1) This entry, rambling and poorly written, and used as an opportunity to take pot shots at one's political 'enemies' exemplifies bad blogging.
2) The word 'exemplify' is used properly in the sentence above. It is not used properly as an introduction in your comments section, Harvey. Exemplifies means demonstrates. You need to use a a word synonymous with 'says' to introduce comments.
Correction: I misread CD. Apparently, he is another member of this little Right Wing circle jerk.
Mac Diva:
You are weary, stale, flat and unprofitable. You are grimy squalid, nasty and profane. You are foul and disgusting. You're a fool, an ignoramus. Monkeys look down the evolutionary chain at you. Even sheep won't have sex with you. You are unreservedly pathetic, starved for attention, and lost in a land that reality forgot.
And what meaning do you expect your delusional self-important statements of unknowing, inexperienced opinion to have with us? What fantasy do you hold that you would believe that your tiny fisted tantrums would have more weight than that of a leprous desert rat, spinning rabidly in a circle, waiting for the bite of the snake?
You are a waste of flesh. You have no rhythm. You are ridiculous and obnoxious. You are the moral equivalent of a leech. You are a living emptiness, a meaningless void. You are sour and senile. You are a disease, you puerile one-handed slack-jawed drooling meat slapper.
On a good day you are a half-wit. You remind me of drool. You are deficient in all that lends character. You have the personality of wall paper. You are dank and filthy. You are asinine and benighted. You are the source of all unpleasantness. You spread misery and sorrow wherever you go.
You smarmy lagerlout git. You bloody woofer sod. Bugger off pillock. You grotty wanking oik artless base-court apple-john. You clouted boggish foot-licking twit. You churlish boil-brained clotpole ponce. You gormless crook-pated tosser. You craven dewberry pisshead cockup patting naff. You gob kissing gleeking flap-mouthed coxcomb. You dread-bolted fobbing beef-witted clapper-clawed flirt-gill.
You are a fiend and a coward, and you have bad breath. You are degenerate, noxious and depraved. I feel debased just for knowing you exist. I despise everything about you, and wish you would go away.
You Socialist Shitstains For Stalin™.
Fuck you if you don’t like it, so forward any objections to your Anal cavity .
And if you give Harvey any more shit, you'll be on the list for Clobberin' Time... I've seen Clobberin' Time, and it ain't pretty....
Wow. So I gather I now know what a troll is? Me thinks she is ranting on your blog so she can increase her ecosystem standings. That is all. I say ignore her and definitely nobody LINK to her! Blech.
OH, And I'm going to try to stay on MW's good side. I think that "What fantasy do you hold that you would believe that your tiny fisted tantrums would have more weight than that of a leprous desert rat, spinning rabidly in a circle, waiting for the bite of the snake?" may very well have been my favorite. LOL!
Wait... how am *I* the one putting the political spin on this? Did you NOT read what Michele's enemies put on the hijacked blog space?
Oh, and exemplifies doesn't mean "demonstrates" it means "illustrates by example or serves as an example of"
I chose "exemplified", not because I think that a comment is an exemplification, but because it fit the "Example" theme, and it wasn't too big of a conceptual stretch, definitionally, since a comment can be thought of as an "example" of what someone thinks.
Look, I'm a silly guy and I say silly things. I know what words mean, and I'm quite familiar with the rules of grammar and punctuation. I will bend or break those rules as I see fit for purposes of entertainment or communication.
Just out of curiosity, do you go around busting Shakespeare's chops for making up words?
I was just logging back on to harass her about the exemplify thing, but you did it. Have I told you lately, Harvey, how I have lost all tolerance for the self-righteous???
Hugs and kisses from an adoring Blog Daughter!
I was going to respond to the troll, but then I realized that it wasn't making any sense.
And, of course, MW pretty much said everything I wanted to say.
Um, did Mac Diva say Blogger does not offer built-in comment support? If so, she's wrong. It most certainly does. It's a relatively recent new feature (a couple of months) but it's there if you wanna use it. I was already using HaloScan so I'm sticking with it for now but I can switch over anytime, or use both!
RR - Mac Diva is WRONG about something?
[eyes bugging in complete shock and horror]
And this line:
"You need to use a a word synonymous with 'says' to introduce comments"
Need?
NEED?
Well, I suppose if my readers all just stepped off the short bus, she might be right. Personally, I give my droppers-by a little credit for being able to make sense of my verbal flippancies.
Maybe she's projecting, based on the 60-watt bulbs that comprise HER readership?
When I first came across "Bad Money", I read everything. Yes, it was funny, pervy and had good links, but it was more than the sum of it's parts. There was a sense of compassion and decency. That is evident now. Harvey, you are a gentleman, Sir!
[blushing]
aw shucks :-)
Thank goodness I've got the Bartender around for those times when compassion and decency simply Will. Not. Do.
And Sally... don't tell anyone about the compassion & decency thing. I've got my reputation to think of ;-)
I've had the same thing happen to me as happened to Michele; I changed my political views after 9/11 and lost many friends because of that, in a very public way. It was a very difficult thing to go through and I am still dealing with some of my former friends in my comments.
(I couldn't find Michele's email or I would have emailed her directly)
Michele, just stay true to yourself, that's what matters. It's going to be a struggle because the friends you left on the left will now think of you as a enemy; they cannot separate the politics from the personal and they cannot understand people who break out of the flock and refuse to be sheep.
As for Mac Diva, she seems to turn up everywhere, mostly uninvited and spewing lessons on how to blog because she sees herself as some kind of blogging expert who has it all figured out. The only thing she has figured out is how to inflate her own ego with imaginary greatness.
She's a legend in her own mind!
Oh wow -- Madfish Willie you are my hero. I've seen that crusty wankstain Mac Diva's musty anal drippings on too many blog comment sections, not to mention I once made the mistake of reading its own blog. It took me months to rinse the smell of poo out of my computer.
My pleasure, Ms Andrea... there's plenty more where that come from too!
Wow! That was truly a thing of beauty, Willie. Makes me homesick for the old days of alt.rec.flame before semi-literacy took over the 'Net.
Been a long time since I've seen "naff", "ponce", "churlish" and "gormless" used properly in context. ;) Well done, sir.
