CAREFUL SMITHERS! THAT SPONGE HAS CORNERS, YOU KNOW

I use a small double-sided sponge to wash my dishes. Regular sponge on one side, scrubby pad on the other.

After a few months, the thing gets torn and ratty and smells like month-old gym socks.

I broke out a new sponge for the kitchen today. Sharp edges & doesn't stink.

It's the little things that make life beautiful.

NOTE: Yes, I know this entry sucks, but Susie of Practical Penumbra is hostessing the Bonfire of the Vanities this week, and I wanted to be sure to have something worthwhile for her. Deadline is midnight Monday, so hurry up with your entries.

You should wash your sponge occasionally and it won't get so nasty.

No, really. Top rack of the dishwasher, every other week or so. It will clean out the crap that builds up inside the sponge. The sponge will last a bit longer but (more importantly) it won't spend its life in a downward spiral to slimy rat-nastiness.
