WIZBANG! SECOND BLOGIVERSARY!

Kevin of Wizbang marked the end of his second full year of blogging yesterday. Unfortunately, he did it a couple hours after I finished checking his site, so I missed being able to post about it in a timely manner.

I wanted to give him a nice shoutout because Kevin's given the blogosphere 3 important things, and he deserves thanks for that.

First, the Bonfire of the Vanities. Modeled after the original Carnival of the Vanities, Kevin's idea was to give bloggers a chance to showcase their crappiest post of the week. It was a grand idea, since it took off all the pressure to turn in a good performance, and I was a regular for quite a while. It used to be hosted solely at Wizbang for the first few months, but eventually got turned into the travelling show that it is today. In fact, when Kevin first decided to farm it out, he offered me first crack at taking it over. Although I was quite honored and extremely flattered, I had to turn it down since I had my hands full with the Alliance at the time. Still, the Bonfire is the gift of garbage that just keeps on giving, much like a horde of rats spreading bubonic plague.

Except in a fun way.

Second, the Wizbang Standalone Trackback Pinger, which has given joy & pings to the trackbackless since time out of mind.

Finally - and perhaps most importantly...

CELEBRITY PORN!
