OFFICIAL HURRICANE HARVEY TRACKBACK POST (UPDATED 8-8-05)

It's become obvious to me that people are going to give me a lot of crap about Tropical Storm (and possible hurricane) Harvey, so I'll just roll with it.

If you're going to make storm jokes at my expense, you might as well get some attention.

Since I have the in-line trackback display feature, if you trackback this post (trackbacks explained here), your link will show up at the bottom. I'll leave this post at the top until this thing... um... blows over. Meanwhile, you folks have fun.

UPDATE 8-8-05: Just saw this headline at Reuters:

"Tropical Storm Irene wilts, Harvey plows on"

Sometimes stamina is more important than size.

Harv by takin' the "if it's inevitable I may as well lay back and enjoy it approach" takes all the fun out of it.

Well not all the fun.

And it probably won't cut back on the number of posts either.

You're such a swell guy givin' us little folks that like to take cheap shots a little bit o recognition.

Contagion exemplified on August 4, 2005 10:00 AM

I'm just hoping that this tropical storm becomes a hurricane. I'd love to see national headlines that include the phrase ".. Harvey blows..."

Oddybobo exemplified on August 4, 2005 10:28 AM

Or "Harvey beats . . . " or "Harvey slams . . . " or . . .

Dr. Phat Tony exemplified on August 4, 2005 12:37 PM

Heh sorry the innuendo was in poor taste. I wanted to get the scoop and I after I wrote the anonymous quote about wind it just collasped to indecency.

WitNit exemplified on August 4, 2005 01:46 PM

Haven't you always wanted to be labeled a Category Five?

Harvey exemplified on August 4, 2005 03:17 PM

DPT - WHAT? Indecency? About ME?

The shock!

The shame!

The indifference!

Besides, even if I were gay, I'd have as much trouble getting laid now as I did in high school anyway. So maybe I *am* gay, but I'm just still a homely virgin.

Madfish Willie exemplified on August 4, 2005 03:21 PM

Meh... Hey, Hurricane Herbey, the wind blows free... how much do YOU charge?

Bou exemplified on August 4, 2005 05:16 PM

How about, "Florida takes it up the a** again, this time from Harvey". Oh wait. That's too crude. Our headlines would never say that. Dammit.

Let's just hope Tammi has this great attitude about taking the ribbing when Tammy forms. It is an inevitability I fear...

Madfish Willie exemplified on August 4, 2005 06:28 PM

Hurricane Herbey Pokes the Florida panhandle! [or sits on it as the case may be]

Laughing Wolf exemplified on August 4, 2005 07:08 PM

Think I will just stay with posting snarky and interesting comments for now, though I do look forward to putting up "Harvey Does Florida" as a title later...

songstress7 exemplified on August 4, 2005 08:33 PM

Even if the storm fizzles out, I'm sure we could at least say something like "Harvey Breaks Wind in Florida". ;)

That 1 Guy exemplified on August 4, 2005 09:52 PM

Harvey's been breakin' wind all over the internet! ;)

Gilly exemplified on August 5, 2005 02:52 AM

Tropical Storm Harvey has caused quite a stir for residents of the Caribbean this week. In an exclusive interview with blogger Wonkette, Harvey was quoted as saying “Yeah, normally, I would be a category 6.5-7 hurricane, but damn, these Atlantic waters are cold, you know what I mean?”

tbflowers exemplified on August 5, 2005 05:33 AM

Darn. I thought it was you tearing up Bermuda. Figured you having a good blow in the Carribean.

Too bad Harvey couldn't have hit the US. You'd have been able to clip and save newspaper headlines for posterity.

Madfish Willie exemplified on August 5, 2005 07:02 AM

just like Herbey... starts out slow, then slowly fizzles away... a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing... half-stepper... weak sister... all-in-all, pretty much a pussy if you ask me.....

Machelle exemplified on August 5, 2005 07:11 AM

With the path that it's on, it's already taken the fun out of everything.

The only headline we might see:

"French surrender as Harvey comes ashore"

tbflowers exemplified on August 5, 2005 10:48 AM

"Tropical Storm Harvey Peters Out"

Harvey Peters Out... or is that Harvey's Peter's Out...

The Babaganoosh exemplified on August 6, 2005 02:01 AM

It would have made great Filthy Lie Material:
What Devastation Will Hurricane Harvey Wreak?

Hurricane Hunters have managed to curtail most of the damage that Harvey intended to accomplish by posting signs in the water reading "Large Busted Hurricanes to Your Northeast"

And HH would have fallen for it.

"Hurricane Harvey loses load over Atlantic Ocean - coastal residents urged not to go swimming"

"Tropical Storm Harvey uproots lingerie shop, brassieres rain down in Cancun"
