GOOD QUESTION
The Bartender from Madfish Willie's Cyber Saloon posted an intriguing (and for once in his life - work safe) question:
What movie starred the most number of Oscar Winning Actors/Actressess? The actor/actress doesn't necessarily have to win for that particular role, just at some point in their career have to have won the honors...I can think of several movies with 3 Oscar winning actors/actresses:
Heat w/ DeNiro, Pacino, Voight
On Golden Pond w/ Fonda, Fonda, Hepburn
The Unforgiven w/ Eastwood, Hackman, FreemenWhat are the others... and is there a movie with four or more?
Inquiring minds want to know....
I know jack about movies. Anyone with a clue, please pipe up either here or there.
Well, I know The Godfather had four -- Brando, Pacino, Duvall and Diane Keaton. And Caan was also nominated.
I'll check out the IMDB on the one... what about Godfather II... Pacino, DiNero, Duvall, Keaton?
Here's a weird one: Outbreak
Hoffman, Freeman, Spacey and Gooding Jr. I don't think Donald Sutherland has ever won.
"A Bridge Too Far" 1976
Michael Caine, Sean Connery, Gene Hackman, Anthony Hopkins, Laurence Oliver and Maximilian Schell. If you count Robert Redford & Richard Attenborough (director, but actually made an uncredited appearance in the film) that makes 8 people that have won an oscar.
Robert Redford and Richard Attenborough both have won an Oscar, but never for acting.
William Goldman (screenwriter) also earned an oscar at one time, but did not make an appearance in the film.
Blogless Mike: Good find!
I was thinking that maybe a "war" or "disaster" movie might be the answer... bunch of random stars appearing for the sake of appearing...
I'm gonna have to look up Dick Tracy while I'm at it... lots o' stars with heavy makeup.
Oh! What about "The Longest Day"? Lot's of big names in that one too.
Longest Day has 5:
Sean Connery
John Wayne
Richard Burton
Henry Fonda
Rod Steiger
