John Hawkins of Right Wing News has a new survey up: Right-Of-Center Bloggers Select Their Favorite People On The Right (2008 Edition)

My answers with explanations:

Bill Whittle (Eject! Eject! Eject!) - He's like a blast furnace of Pro-Americanism. He understand why this country is the best thing that ever happened to this planet, and he declares this in no uncertain terms. The modern master of the long-form essay. Glad he's on our side.

Gerard Van der Leun (American Digest) - Above all else, I delight in this man's ability to coin aptly descriptive metaphors, but it's how he uses this talent that makes me worship the ground above which he walks. No one can better explain why Islam is a deadly threat, and why progressive liberalism is a degenerative mental disease. He is both artful and convincing, while giving no quarter to those undeserving of it.

Rush Limbaugh - Optimism. Day after day, he explains what is right and good and noble about this country. He informs about the perfidy of the left, but also offers alternative solutions to their insidious schemes.

Sarah Palin - She understand why we're fighting this war. She understands that while taxes and government are necessary evils, they are still evil, and should be minimized. She understands that man-made global warming is a hoax designed to allow leftists to accrete power to themselves. In short, she's the only politician on the national stage today who "gets it".

Dennis Miller - Partly my personal preference for humor that contains obscure historical references, but mostly for my appreciation of a man who recognizes reality when it jumps up and bites him in the ass, i.e. getting fully on board the war train after 9/11.

Frank J. Fleming - Yeah, the guy from IMAO. Honestly, no one is better at using wild exaggeration to make blunt political points. One of the few people besides P.J. O'Rourke who can make me laugh out loud while reading.

John Hawkins (Right Wing News) - Partly ass-kissery for the guy doing the survey, but he's also special among right-wing bloggers, in that he does not merely pontificate, he does a lot of grunt work amongst the blogging community, trying to make blogging itself a better medium. Sort of like a community organizer, without the corruption, embezzlement & bribery.
